Chamber Concert

Back Home Up Next

Wednesday, May 23.

Tonight we had a Chamber Concert at school to give the instrumentalists some more experience at public performance, and to give parents and friends the opportunity to see and hear the fruit of all that practice. The standard of musicianship was very high. I was really impressed. Many boys have passed Grades 7 and 8 in their first instrument and a number have also passed significant Grades on a second instrument. Many have also done well in national and international competitions. It was a very enjoyable concert.

The programme included solo performances on flute, piano, clarinet, cornet, trombone, Cello, Violin, Viola, and Saxophone and pieces by a diverse range of composers including Bach, Mozart, Debussy, Poulenc and Kreisler.
